TGR at the Global Pinoy Bazaar

Global Pinoy Bazaar is an annual project of the Yabang Pinoy movement that aims to showcase Filipino entrepreneurs producing Filipino products with 100% Filipino Love and Pride. The girls were lucky enough to get VIP passes to the event, thanks to IamMEG.ph’s Editor Wyatt Ong.

The Rockwell Tent housed more than seventy booths during the bazaar’s third installment. Food, fashion, beauty, handcrafted, and eco-friendly products were in generous servings, catering to a wide demographic of women and men of all ages. We saw families roaming around, shopping buddies, girlfriends, and even couples. The bazaar lured in the DIY enthusiasts like Aki’s cousin and the gal behind itrydiy.me, Mikko, among others.

Yuletide overhangs decorated the venue.

An array of all-natural beauty products

Accessories and jewelry

Paper wallets in unique and interesting skins

Delicate ceramics

Bags to keep your loot in

Boxes and organizers to keep your rooms spic and span

J’adore these shoes and slip-ons!

Some familiar brands like Punchdrunk Panda and Olivia and Fifth participated

Handmade felt notebooks, wallets, and hair accessories!

Candy-colored cupcakes from Frosted

Healthy dips and dressings from WHISK

We had a hard time moving around because there were so many people eager to look into every booth, but that only means the bazaar was a great success, if not tremendous. We only stuck around for a little while after noon, but there were no signs yet of the crowds dissipating. It was a good two days of Pinoy pride and ingenuity.

Support local products! Better yet, create your own locally produced business and support the Yabang Pinoy movement!

Manila Welcomes Japan: Opening of UNIQLO

June 15 marks the official opening of the first UNIQLO branch here in Manila! For those of you who aren’t familiar with Uniqlo, it is a Japan-based apparel brand specializing in casual wear and innovative clothing. It claims to be the top fashion brand in Japan. Their astounding 793 stores in that country alone proves that it is. Aiming to be number one in the world, the ambitious brand is doing so by taking it to the next level - spreading Uniqlo stores overseas.

People flocked and waited in line just to get in. Imagine this, the line encircled the 2nd floor of MOA from one end to the other end of the mall. Crazy, yes. It took me and my shopping buddies roughly an hour to step in the store premises.

As we waited in line, my shopping buddies and I were already planning our shopping strategy.

The store is 1,550 square meters, filled with various basic wear to choose from such as the Skinny Fit Straight Jeans, UT (Uniqlo’s t-shirt collaboration with other brands), the Summer Bottoms Collection, the Airism (super light garments), Children’s Wear and the Bratop collection.

There were around 20 cashiers to accommodate the buyers. They had them all working at the same time and not a minute to spare. We waited in line for 30 minutes.

Seizing the sale, I got these basics for just 2,500Php! The Stretch Pique Polo Dress (LOVE THIS), the Bratop, Pique Short-sleeved Polo and the Premium Cotton V-neck Short Sleeve.

If you weren’t able to make it to the Opening Sale, don’t fret! Here are some of their promos that you can still grab hold of.

They have new items, too! Some of their new arrivals include the Marvel UT, Lulu Guinness UT, the Orla Keily and many more.

Overall, my Uniqlo experience here in the Philippines is tiring but satisfying. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. The items were constantly folded neatly and accordingly despite our practice of just dumping our unwanted items anywhere. Congratulations to team Uniqlo Philippines for a job well done!

So head on to the next big thing to hit Manila!

You can also check Uniqlo’s website for more information.

I do not own the photos of the products nor the promo advertisement of Uniqlo.

A Definite Uno: UP Academic Planner

Now on its third year of conception, the UP Academic Planner surpasses its first installment, giving you more than just a college buddy. With countless vouchers, freebies, free passes, and a free ticket to the anticipated college party of the sem, you’ve ran out of reasons not to get one for yourself, especially if you’re a UP student (all UP systems included).

It has the most basic of needs: a daily planner, class schedules for both semesters, tables for the number of Cuts, Units, and special holidays and University celebrations including unique dates from all campuses, plus the lyrics to “UP Naming Mahal” (“UP, Our Beloved”) just to list a few.

It also has quirky guides to classes, profs, quotable quotes, favorite hang-out places and study places, print shop locations, how to survive Hell Week (or Hell Month/Sem/Year), a map for UP Diliman, Guides to Enrollment, Prerog, and even a game of “Sablay o Singko” a la Snakes and Ladders. To check their sample pages, click here.

This Planner is the product of months of sleepless nights, zombie-like days, irregular eating habits, research research research, and love— for both YOU and UP. It is powered by honor and excellence, as well as the desire to serve you the best way we know how. Also caffeine.

Last Thursday, the team debuted their babies at Moonleaf Maginhawa. I was free that day and supposed I could help my friends from the creative and hardworking team behind the UP Academic Planner.

They were giving away free Myra facial moisturizers to those who bought planners that day.

My PUGAD friends and party buddies, Chantal and Barbie (project head)!

Quick collage of the PUGAD girls, how many moisturizers a person scored, people checking out the planners, and our very cute resident marshmallow smiling for the camera.

Get yours for only 350Php!

They’re open to pre-order and walk-in buyers. They’ll be setting up a booth at Moonleaf Tea Shop Maginhawa every Monday for a couple of weeks.
