TGR in Heima DD3 and Collection Launch

THE DISCUSSION

Saturday was a relatively calm day for everyone to gather in LRI Design Plaza for Heima’s Third Design Discussion. Art, lifestyle, design… some of the most perplexing perspectives boomed out out shell last 5th of May.

One that I’d like to talk about was that from the artists of Paper Heads. They showed their style of art, and proclaimed their love for their mentor, contemporary artist Ai Weiwei.

Their work struck me in many ways. The way these people respect the value of paper and give justice to its beauty by creating art is truly remarkable. I also like how their work are both symbolic and literal at the same time.

Other speakers include: Soleil Ignacio, Towkwa Penaflorida, Charles Buenconsejo, Aleyn Comprendio and Coast Thru Life.

THE NEW COLLECTION: Oh hi Summertime!

The new collection was something that I really looked forward to! I was definitely expecting dainty, bright and contrasting colors.

Upon arriving at the show room, I was welcomed by a gorgeous piece of furniture named Molly. The contrasting peppermint and bright coral instantly gave me a welcoming Summer vibe.

One of my personal favorites is the six-drawer bureau named Taylor. The beautiful hues of blue reminded me of the ocean. I’m a minimalist, and I love things that look clean and simple. When I saw this drawer, I immediately wanted it in my room!

Floral prints are time bound. It doesn’t matter what season you’re in, just get the right size of prints with complementing colors, and you’re good to go! Florals, for me, at least, invoke comfort. This accent chair looks very comfy indeed, don’t you agree?

Another one of my minimalist faves is the Ms. Pea Wing chair. It reminded me of those monochromatic Japanese street art. It didn’t necessarily looked “Summery” to me, but placed with the right table and other elements, it could definitely work for any season.

I tried to make a panoramic shot of Heima’s entire collection, and I hope you ladies like it! I do apologize if it looks quite tiny, but you can send us an email if you would like to have the high resolution copy of this. :)

A Caution to Sailors

Upon entering the Heima Cubao X store, you’ll definitely know you’re in for something special. “Hello Sailors”, as the exhibit greets, invites the public (the sailors) into falling in love with the dreamy underwater fantasy that Tokwa and Soleil of Thursday Room created. Artworks featured mermaids and water nymphs who attract  curious minds with the intent to lure them into a trance and kill them (or just lure them in buying the art). Genius theme, I know. Kit and I couldn’t help but appreciate the hard work and thought that had been given into all these gorgeous pieces.

We couldn’t stop staring to study the details. There’s a lot, and better you go see the exhibit yourself to truly see the artists’ masterful technique. Photos do not do justice.

(a collaborative work between Soleil and Tokwa accents the first storey of Heima.)

(photos with artist Soleil Ignacio. We didn’t have any with Tokwa Penaflorida. We were too shy haha.)

(Art prints for sale at P150 only at the Heima Home and Lifestyle Cubao X.)

Congratulations to Tokwa Penaflorida and Soleil Ignacio once again!
